The JETBeam JL160 is a rechargeable RCR123A that is designed
specifically for use in high-drain devices. The li-ion battery offers a
680mAh capacity, as well as a maximum discharge rate of 3A. This 16340
battery is equipped with a 3-way protection system that prevents the
cell from overheating, overcharging and over-discharging. The 3-stemmed
system is made up of the following: a PTC (positive temperature
coefficient) block to protect against current surges, a built-in
separator to prevent short circuits and pressure relief valves to allow
for ventilation. The redesigned packaging has also made this li-ion
cell stronger, more durable and even more shock resistant. This RCR123A
battery is also equipped with nickel-plated stainless steel boards to
further prevent puncture due to impact.
